What is Yoga?
Yoga heals. What appears fragmented, yoga brings together. If we are ever to experience intimacy – the one thing we crave most - it will have to first start from within. A recognition that our breath, pulse, movement and desires are manifestations of a supreme intelligence living in us, as us.
What is a Yogi?
A yogi is one who engages in our human circumstance consciously and employs practical means to move away from unnecessary suffering and toward a full appreciation of life. The gifts of embodiment can be joyful, sad, wonderful and poingant. It is the reception rather than the denial of these gifts that is a watershed moment - the first and most important decision of yoga.
Yoga cannot be owned because it is in all of us. Every time you've experienced a feeling of clarity, lightness of spirit or just taken a deep, conscious breath you've done Yoga. Learn to share your practice.
What is Hatha Yoga?
Hatha Yoga is the skillful use of seemingly opposing forces - inhale and exhale, strength and surrender, renunciation
and full participation in life, to find the place where these forces are reconciled - the heart. There is a saying that
Shiva - the Lord of Yoga - dwells in the places of transition - in the very space between these opposing forces.
